The mystery of “SHIVA” often unfold in the most unexpected ways.

Any times when I send messages, I use the name of Lord Shiva. I use it not to invoke religious aspects but to express how he plays the role of a mentor and guide in my journey. A couple of years ago, when I visited Baijnath Dham, one of Shiva’s Jyotirlingas, he gave me the responsibility of making a difference in the life of a disabled child Ayush Kumar.Over the past two years, with all your help, we have been able to take care of that child.

Recently, I visited Nepal and went to Pashupati Nath. While doing pooja with my friend there, we all received Rudraksha malas. The name “Rudraksha” means “tears of Shiva.” When Shiva meditated for thousands of years, his tears fell to the ground, and large trees grew where they touched. The fruits of these trees and their seeds are called Rudraksha. Suddenly, my eyes went to the Shiva idol and saw a Rudraksha mala that Shiva himself was wearing. I asked the priest if I could have that mala, and he said no as it belonged to the temple. However, after two minutes, he took that mala out and put it around my neck.

In Kathmandu, I visited some children’s shelters and saw two shelters with orphaned and handicapped kids. Looking at those kids, I decided to help and take care of them. There were about 50 kids in both shelters. After returning to the US, I started thinking about how to help them by providing medical facilities, such as getting them artificial limbs.

Recently, I called the shelter and asked them to send me a list of the children because I wanted to send winter jackets to them. A friend told me that Rudraksha malas usually have 108 beads. Yesterday, I took out the mala and put it in my car, and suddenly I felt like counting the beads. It had 54 beads. When I arrived at my office, I received the list from the two shelters. Can you guess how many children were on the list? It was 54 children. Shiva has given the family of Friends of Sparsh 54 children to care for.

It’s hard to understand the mystery of Shiva, but congratulations to my FOS family. We have been given 54 children to care for. When the time comes, I will reach out to you for help. Until then,

Om Namah Shivaya
