13 Aug Bringing Stories to Life: The Journey Behind ‘Dancing with My Cells’
For the past 15 years, I have worked closely with the homeless, hearing their stories firsthand and addressing the doubts and questions of many volunteers. A couple of years ago, I had the idea of creating short films to share the stories of those who have become homeless and to help others understand the complex circumstances that lead to homelessness. These films aim to highlight the stark differences in how society treats individuals based on their circumstances.
With this vision in mind, Friends of Sparsh and Take 2 Creations joined hands to bring these stories to life. I am thrilled to share our latest short film, “Dancing with My Cells,” based on true events that I have personally witnessed.
I am delighted to announce that “Dancing with My Cells” will premiere at DCSAFF “Film Festival at MD “next month from September 13th to 15th.
My heartfelt thanks go to Chetna Gola and Manoj Tiwari for helping transform my vision into this beautiful film. Shirley Naylor, who has experienced homelessness twice and always aspired to act, plays the lead role alongside talented local actors Paroma Sanyal, Arindam Ghosh, Neev Saraff, Manjila Saraf, and many others who made this dream possible. The film was shot, edited, and scored by Onkar Naik.
Don’t miss the opportunity to watch this heartwarming film at DCSAFF. Please visit their website to buy tickets.
I also want to express my gratitude to Neev, Manjila, and the thousands of volunteers who have supported and believed in Friends of Sparsh throughout this journey.
